General Paradigm Shifts

Amazonian tribe has no calendar and no concept of time

The Amondawa people who live deep in the Amazonian rainforests of Brazil have no watches or calendars and live their lives to the patterns of day and night and the rainy and dry seasons. They also have no age – and mark the transition from childhood to adulthood to old age by changing their name. The team of researchers, led by University of Portsmouth, said that it is the first time they have been able to prove time is not a deeply entrenched universal human concept, as previously thought. They also have their own language which have a number system but it only goes up to four. They also found nobody in the community had an age. Instead, they change their names to reflect their life-stage and position within their society. Sigue leyendo

Collective Scientific Project to Decipher the Beautiful Whalesong

BALLENA JOROBADAOne could say that the misterious whalesong has occupied in our time the place left by the mermaids and their mythical and confounding voices. In the case of these cetaceans, however, the fascination has been less lethal and maybe even benefitial: although in some areas of the world its indiscriminate hunt continues, in other places measures hav been taken to protect them. This has been due to the profound respect that these impressive animals inspire.

And this may be the case of the Whale Song Project, also known as Whale FM, a joint initiative of the magazine Scientific American magazine, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts, the Oxford University and other natural research  institutions. This project invites us all to decipher the language of the whales. Scientific American describes the procedure to be followed: Sigue leyendo

15 Things You Didn’t Know About the Brain (Infographic)

The human brain is the one of the most fascinating things this world has to offer. Think about it, this organ creates thoughts and creates what is essentially life for us and all other animals. The brain is all we have, the world as we see it is a result of our brains. Though the make up of all our brains is the same, they all work a little different.

The Reality of Multidimensionality

multidimensionality

We perceive Reality through our senses which convince us that the way in which we experience the world around us is exactly the way it exists. The true nature of Reality, however, is not experienced through this superficial perception of the world and limits the incredible (some say magical) nature of the universe and beyond. Thanks to the new physics led by such luminaries as David Bohm, Ervin Laszlo and Fred Alan Wolf, the collective consciousness now has easy access to the information about the universe showing us that Reality is far more complex and interwoven that we have imagined it to be.

The illusion of a stable dense reality that we call the third dimension can distort our very understanding of what we are, how we are, and why we are. We oftentimes put too much trust in our basic senses without seeing if there is more than meets the eye (oftentimes doing so in order to create simple answers to complex questions). The wonderful truth is that there is much, much more to life than this. The new physics validates many understandings of life, the universe, and Reality as a whole that were experienced by the sages, the mystics, and the meditators of ages past. One of the most incredible validations is the reality of multidimensionality. Sigue leyendo

The Sweet Stevia

The stevia, also known as sweetleaf or sugarleaf, is a plant that could by itself uncover the unethical business behind aspartame (chemical carcinogenic sweetener used in many food products, pure poison) and significantly reduce the intake of transgenic drugs and insulines. Sigue leyendo

Modifying Reality Through Our Subjective Perceptions

quantum-reality

When one looks to the present-day scientific community, we see an almost maniacal desire for objective answers to its questions. Scientists want absolutely no bias in their results and therefore will act as if they are completely detached from any matter at hand, in order to gain the most objective answers. What they do not realize, is that by this very sort of action on their part, they are having subjective perceptions unconsciously.

They are deducing that their intentions, beliefs, and state of consciousness have no effect on whatever aspect of reality they are studying. Their very belief in their own consciousness not having an effect on the matter at hand has an effect on the matter at hand. Results and answers will be skewed in a particular direction. In fact, entire new aspects of reality will arise that provide answers, but such answers are on a lower level of truth and reality than in actuality. Sigue leyendo

The New German Medicine and the Five Biological Laws (documentary)

ryke-geerd-hamerThe New German Medicine approaches the disease, especially cancer, from a completely different angle. Its view is opposed to the approach accepted by the modern Western societies. For the first time, diseases are not seen as enemies, but as a natural biological reaction created by the body in order to confront a certain conflict. Of course, this conflict will depend on the interpretation made by the individual, and will go through different and very specific phases.

Although in the beginning Dr Ryke Hamer – creator of this new way of considering our nature – was ridiculed,  mistreated and silenced, there is a growing number of professionals around the globe that are starting to feel aligned with his discoveries. This documentary explains in very clear terms what the New German Medicine is and which are its 5 Biological Laws. Until now, all cancer cases studied have fitted perfectly into these laws, and Dr Hamer has obtained results that are currently for the traditional medicine.

We recommend you to open your mind and watch this documentary calmly, little by little. If you doubt after watching it, at least you know now another part of the whole picture. Sigue leyendo

Michio Kaku: Mysteries of Quantum Physics

michio-kaku

Michio Kaku is a professor of Theorical Physics at the New York University, co-founder of the string theory and a popular scientific commentator for the BBC and Discovery Channel. His popularity is growing in the Internet thanks to his efforts to reveal the mysteries of quantum physics to an audience that is eager to learn more about this new theoretical model.

Today we share with you a 7-minute clip in which he explains what we and our Universe are according to the quantum model. The Universe is a mystery and it seems that we are still far away from accepting the theories demonstrated by quatum physics. And this is mainly because our society blindly relies on the obsolete traditional scientific method.

Self-Healing: 5 Ways To Boost Our Mind Power From a Scientific Point Of View

bodyThe following article was originally published in the renowned scientific magazine New Scientist under the title “Heal thyself: The power of mind over matter”. We will explore 5 ways to boost our mental power to favour our health.  The latest results disclosed by cutting-edge scientific schools are irrefutable: we create our reality, and our health depends on our attitude.

pensamiento-positivo1. THINK POSITIVE

“Everything’s going to be fine.” Go on, try to convince yourself, because realism can be bad for your health. Optimists recover better from medical procedures such as coronary bypass surgery, have healthier immune systems and live longer, both in general and when suffering from conditions such as cancer, heart disease and kidney failure (Annals of Behavioral Medicine, vol 39, p 4).

It is well accepted that negative thoughts and anxiety can make us ill. Stress – the belief that we are at risk – triggers physiological pathways such as the “fight-or-flight” response, mediated by the sympathetic nervous system. These have evolved to protect us from danger, but if switched on long-term they increase the risk of conditions such as diabetes and dementia.

What researchers are now realising is that positive beliefs don’t just work by quelling stress. They have a positive effect too – feeling safe and secure, or believing things will turn out fine, seems to help the body maintain and repair itself. Sigue leyendo

Coconuts and Sunshine Will Power Pacific Islands

tokelauCoconuts and sunshine will soon provide all the electricity demands of the South Pacific islands of Tokelau.

Foua Toloa, Tokelau’s leader, announced this week that by the middle of next year solar energy will supply 93 per cent of Tokelau’s electricity – the rest will come from coconut oil. Motor vehicles and some cooking devices will still use fossil fuels, but renewables will power most of the nation’s technology.

Tokelau, which consists of three small Pacific atolls administered by New Zealand, is home to around 1500 people. Its highest point is 5 metres above sea level, making the territory vulnerable to rising waters caused, ultimately, by fossil fuel burning.

Apart from solar energy supplying a few houses and buildings, Tokelau relies on fossil fuels for its power. Each atoll uses around 200 litres of fuel per day, including kerosene, gasoline and natural gas, which must be transported from New Zealand.

By mid-2012, each island’s electricity grid will be powered by solar photovoltaic cells, with batteries to store excess electricity for the night. During periods of thick cloud cover or when electricity demand exceeds solar supply, a purpose-built generator that runs on coconut oil will supply power and simultaneously recharge the battery bank.

What could inspire an island to completely rethink its energy infrastructure?

The possibility that climate change could sink it, that’s what. Tokelau sits just 16 feet above sea level, which means it would be particularly vulnerable to rising oceans associated with carbon-emissions fueled global warming.

“Because we are affected left right and centre, you know, by the impact of climate change. And while the rest of the world is not listening to the impact of climate change in a very small country in the Pacific this project is a vehicle and a message to the whole world to actually walk the talk and not just buy lip service,” Toloa said.
